The Purpose of the EBSCO Safety Team

ORGANIZATION
The Safety Team is to be comprised of volunteers from Ebsco. There shall be at least one member from each department.
They should meet at least once per month
Management is committed to support all teams with resources, support, involvement and policies for all approved safety policies and initiatives. The Teams are designed to be employee and not management driven.
One member shall be appointed as leader to facilitate meetings and insure follow through on objectives.
The Safety Manager, who is responsible for all Federal, State and Local safety regulation compliance and documentation, shall serve on the team providing input on regulations and documenting team initiatives.
THE SAFETY TEAM WILL:
- Assign one person per department to insure all employees are accounted for in the case of an evacuation or tornado drill.
- Review and make recommendations concerning Ebsco’s safety policies and procedures.
- Members will visually inspect Ebsco for safety issues and communicate them to the proper individuals.
- Teach and communicate safety information to employee
- Maintain first aid supplies and insure follow through of Ebsco’s injury response program
- Maintain monthly inventory and replenish first aid supplies
- Perform monthly review of individual areas
- Communicate safety information at bi-monthly department meetings
GOALS
- Perform evacuation or Tornado drill quarterly. (One Tornado drill per year required)
- Perform report, document and make corrections on Ebsco’s Safety Check List, annually.
- Perform company safety training meeting at least six times per year.
- Post specific safety reminders/tips on ETV at least monthly through manager Multi-Media
- Reduce significant injuries (Those requiring outside medical attention) below industry standards, with an ultimate goal of NONE.
- Increase individual awareness of surroundings
